A new grant for a deserving project

Holroyd City Council annual Community Assistance Program 2004 Presentations were held at the Holroyd Centre at Merrylands in the presence of the Mayor, Councilors and the Federal Member of Parliament, for Parramatta, Julie Owens and Member for Granville, Laurie Ferguson.

The Mayor Clr John H Brodie presented various grants to deserving causes in the Municipality. The Maltese Welfare (NSW) were amongst the successful applicants. The Mayor spoke highly about the work being undertaking by Maltese Welfare (NSW) in the City of Holroyd and said that work amongst the elderly and the isolated was still high priority. The President of The Maltese Welfare (NSW) than gave a power-point presentation about the project in hand and the methods to be used in the dissemination of vital information to the community that are linguistically and culturally appropriate.

Present for the presentation were Lawrence Dimech, Maria DeCarlo (Secretary), Nathalie Gatt (Treasurer), Marlene Dimech and Lawrence Gatt also members of the committee.
